When is the best time to visit Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon West Rim?+
March to May and September to November are the most comfortable, with desert daytime temperatures that allow walking. Summer regularly exceeds 40 C, which makes the West Rim and Hoover Dam strenuous. Winter is mild in the city but the canyon rim can be cold and windy, so pack layers.
Can you drink alcohol on the Las Vegas Strip in public?+
Open containers are not allowed on the street, and this itinerary plans drinks inside casinos and bars. Check posted signage at each venue, and note that pool parties and clubs have their own age and dress policies. Buying drinks at a casino bar and carrying them outside is not permitted.
How far ahead should I book the Grand Canyon helicopter and Cirque shows?+
Book both before you travel, especially for weekend dates and holiday periods. Helicopter flights to the West Rim and Skywalk depend on weather and fill quickly, and Cirque du Soleil's O at the Bellagio is one of the hardest tickets in town.
