Days stay in and around central London: arrival and the South Bank, a full museum day, Covent Garden and Soho, then the London Eye and the Prime Meridian at Greenwich, finishing in Notting Hill before…
Take the Elizabeth line to Tottenham Court Road and change for the Northern line to Waterloo. The whole trip takes about an hour, and step-free routes are marked on the Tube map.
Enter the Turbine Hall for the free installation, then cross the Millennium Bridge toward St Paul's. The gallery stays open until 18:00, and the bridge has good skyline views in late light.
The riverside strip between the Globe and Borough has pubs and small restaurants with outdoor tables. Book ahead for a window seat, and expect higher prices than a block inland.

The British Museum and most national museums offer free general admission, though special exhibitions are ticketed. Free entry does not mean walk straight in: popular museums use timed slots and queues build by mid-morning. Reserve a free slot online for the British Museum and check each museum's current booking policy.
Late April to June and September to early October balance mild weather with fewer crowds than high summer. November is colder and darker but brings Christmas lights and market stalls. Avoid school holidays if you want quieter museums and markets such as Portobello Road on a Saturday.
The fastest options are the DLR to Cutty Sark or Greenwich, or a Southeastern train from London Bridge or Cannon Street. The Jubilee line to North Greenwich leaves a short bus ride away. A Thames Clippers boat from central piers is slower but drops you at Greenwich Pier, which suits a relaxed day.
This comfortable London-only stay is budgeted at about $1,200–1,790 (roughly €1,040–1,560) per person without international flights. It covers a mid-range hotel, contactless Tube and bus travel, museum donations and a few paid sights such as the London Eye. Eating away from the main tourist streets keeps the total down.
