Fly into Toronto (YYZ). Days: CN Tower and Ripley's Aquarium, a GO Bus (about 1.5 hours) day to Niagara for Horseshoe Falls, the Maid of the Mist boat and the Whirlpool Aero Car, then St Lawrence Mark…
The UP Express reaches Union Station in 25 minutes and runs every quarter of an hour. Buy tickets from the machine in arrivals, and note that children ride free on the TTC when an adult pays.
Walk the lakeside boardwalk past the island ferry docks and the sugar beach sand pit. The path is flat and stroller friendly, and the water taxis keep running until late in summer.
The food halls around Union Station suit tired children and fussy eaters better than a sit-down restaurant. Most counters close by 21:00, so eat early and keep the evening short.

Yes. The Maid of the Mist is a short, stable boat ride close to the falls and a highlight for most families. Children get ponchos like adults and will still get wet, so bring a change of clothes. Very young children may find the noise and spray intense. Boats run from about May to October, so check dates before booking.
The GO Bus runs from Toronto to Niagara Falls in roughly 1.5 hours, and the seasonal GO Train does the same on weekends. Both drop near the falls, so you do not need to drive or park. Book tickets the day before for the best fares, and check the last return time because the schedule thins in the evening.
May to October is when the boat rides, Whirlpool Aero Car and outdoor attractions all run, with July and August the busiest and most expensive. Late May and September are milder and cheaper. After October the Maid of the Mist stops for the season, though the evening illumination and winter lights continue.
The itinerary is quoted at roughly $1,350-1,940 or EUR 1,170-1,690 per person, excluding flights, so a family of four should plan near the upper end. It covers mid-range Toronto hotels, the CN Tower and aquarium, and the Niagara day trip. Look for family hotel rates and attraction bundles, which cut costs more than dining savings.
