Fly into Kansai Airport and open the trip with a Dotonbori dinner. Day two is Kuromon Market's seafood and tempura stalls, day three pairs Osaka Castle with an afternoon train to Kyoto and a kaiseki d…
Clear immigration and board the Nankai Rapi:t for the 45-minute run to Namba. The reserved seat is included, luggage space is limited, and the airport limousine bus is a slower alternative if you have heavy bags.
Visit the giant lion-head stage of Namba Yasaka Shrine, a short walk from the station. The grounds are free and quiet in late afternoon, and the shape makes a striking photo without a long queue.
Start the trip with a crawl along the canal: takoyaki, kushikatsu and okonomiyaki from three different counters. Portions are small, most stalls are cash-first, and kushikatsu shops expect you not to double-dip.
Members get the complete day-by-day plan with timing, transport and on-the-ground tips.

Autumn and winter, roughly November to February, are when crab, fugu and nabemono hot-pot appear on menus across Kansai. The same months are cold but far less crowded than cherry blossom season, making market crawls and restaurant bookings easier.
Go in the morning, from opening until about midday, when stalls are fully stocked and crowds are thinner. Many Kuromon vendors close or sell out by late afternoon, and Nishiki's narrow lane becomes hard to navigate with a group after lunch.
Top kaiseki restaurants take reservations weeks to months ahead, especially in autumn and spring, and some require a hotel or concierge to book on your behalf. Decide your Kyoto night early and ask about cancellation policies and dietary substitutions.
The itinerary's comfort budget of roughly $1,200-1,790 (about EUR 1,040-1,560) excludes international flights and assumes mid-range meals with one splurge. Street food and market snacks cost little; a kaiseki dinner is the main variable, so price it before you commit.
