Arrive and open with the Petronas Towers musical fountain at KLCC. Day two pairs Batu Caves, Merdeka Square and Jamek Mosque. Day three is Bukit Bintang shopping and the Jalan Alor hawker night market…
Take the KLIA Ekspres from the airport to KL Sentral, a 28-minute non-stop run for about 55 ringgit. Trains depart every 15 to 20 minutes and stop running shortly after midnight, so check your landing time.
Cross the pedestrian Saloma Link, a lantern-shaped bridge that frames the Petronas Towers against the skyline. It is free and busiest at sunset, so come slightly later for space, and walk on to Kampung Baru for dinner.
Watch the free Lake Symphony show, when jets of water dance to music in front of the towers. Shows run several times each evening from 20:00; the raised steps by the mall give the clearest view.

Four days comfortably covers the Petronas Towers, Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, Jamek Mosque and a Bukit Bintang evening. It leaves no room for day trips to Malacca or Genting. Keep day four clear for the airport run, since KLIA sits about an hour from the city centre and traffic can stretch that.
The LRT, MRT and monorail link KLCC, Bukit Bintang and Merdeka Square, and fares are low. Use the KTM Komuter line for Batu Caves, about 30 minutes from KL Sentral. Grab ride-hailing fills the gaps and is cheap. Avoid rush hour, when roads around Jalan Sultan Ismail stall.
December to February is the driest window and the most comfortable for walking between sights. The city holds 25-32C with high humidity year round, so plan outdoor stops like Batu Caves for the morning. March to May and September to November bring afternoon downpours that usually pass quickly.
Visitors in shorts or sleeveless tops are usually offered a robe at the mosque entrance, and shoes come off before you step inside. At Batu Caves, cover shoulders and knees, and carry shoes you can climb in for the 272 steps. Non-Muslims may visit outside prayer times, but check the posted hours.
