The trip flies into Split (SPU), opens with a harbour dinner, then ferries over to Hvar for the Spanish Fortress and a Blue Cave cruise, then on to Korcula's medieval walled town and beaches, before r…
The airport bus from SPU runs to the main bus station in about 30 minutes and costs a few euros; buy the ticket at the kiosk outside arrivals. Taxis charge fixed rates, so agree the price before getting in.
Drop your bags and walk the small fishing quarter of Matejuska behind the Riva, where painted houses face the harbour. It is five minutes from the palace and far quieter at night than the waterfront.
Choose a konoba one street back from the Riva for grilled sea bream, black risotto or gregada fish stew. Ask the price by weight before ordering fish; the terrace view costs noticeably more than the side lanes.

Catamarans and car ferries run year-round on the main Split routes, but Korcula and smaller island services thin out from October to April. June to September brings the warmest sea and the fullest timetable. July and August are peak, so book rooms and ferry seats well ahead.
Most island-hopping itineraries work better on foot: catamarans from Split reach Hvar town and Korcula town directly, and both towns are compact. Bringing a car needs a Jadrolinija car-ferry reservation weeks ahead in summer and adds cost. Check how far your hotel sits from the ferry port before deciding.
Plan around $2,240-3,290 (about EUR 1,950-2,860) per person for comfortable seafront hotels, ferries, boat trips and meals, excluding international flights. Peak July and August push island room rates to their highest, while June and September offer similar weather for less. Blue Cave and Pakleni boat days are the main add-ons.
It can suit both, with short ferry hops, compact walled towns and calm coves, but expect cobbled lanes, stairs and some pebble beaches. Korcula's old town has slopes, and the Blue Cave trip involves a small-boat transfer. Choose hotels near the port, allow slower days and check sea conditions before booking boat trips.
