Arrive in Budapest and spend days at Széchenyi bath in City Park, Gellért's Art Nouveau bath, Rudas' rooftop night sessions, with evening Danube cruises between.
From Terminal 2, catch bus 100E to Deák Ferenc tér and walk to your hotel. The airport ticket is sold at vending machines and in the BudapestGO app; traffic can double the ride at peak hours, so allow an hour.
Ease into the outdoor pools at Széchenyi, then try the 38-degree thermal basin and the cold plunge. Book a cabin online, bring flip-flops and a towel, and expect queues after 16:00 at weekends.
Book a table at Gundel for Hungarian classics such as goose liver and somlói dumplings in a dining room facing City Park. Reserve two days ahead for dinner, dress smart casual, and note the kitchen closes around 22:00.

Széchenyi in City Park is the largest and easiest for a first visit, with outdoor pools open year-round. Gellért adds Art Nouveau interiors and co-ed thermal pools, while Rudas is smaller and holds men-only and women-only days, so check its schedule before booking a night session.
Summer weekends at Széchenyi and Gellért can sell out, so reserve a timed ticket online a few days ahead. Weekday mornings are quieter and need less planning. Rudas night sessions are limited in number, so book those as soon as your dates are fixed.
Bring a swimsuit, flip-flops and a towel, since rentals cost extra at most baths. Some pools require a swim cap. Lockers take a deposit or a small fee. Rudas runs single-sex days, and its rooftop pool is the highlight of an evening session.
Yes. Outdoor pools steam in the cold and indoor thermal halls stay warm, with outside temperatures around -5°C to 5°C. Winter also means short queues at museums and lower hotel rates, though December Christmas markets draw crowds. April–May and September–October remain the mildest months.
