Arrive and open with Gwangjang Market snacks. Day two is a BBQ specialist restaurant plus street tteokbokki. Day three takes the KTX to Jeonju for bibimbap and a hanok-village set meal. Day four finis…
Clear immigration and take the AREX express to Seoul Station, then a subway or taxi to your hotel. The train runs about 43 minutes; buy a T-money card in arrivals and top it up for the week's subway rides.
Sit at a market counter for mung-bean pancakes, mayak gimbap and tteokbokki, cooked in front of you. The aisles are tight and busy after 18:00; bring cash, order one dish at a time and share so you can try more stalls.

Reserve a few days ahead for a guaranteed seat, and earlier for weekends, Korean holidays and Friday evenings. KTX trains from Yongsan take about 1.5 to 2 hours to Jeonju. Book via the Korail website or app; collect or use a mobile ticket with your passport.
Many Gwangjang Market stalls still prefer cash, though some take cards and mobile payment. Bring a mix of small won notes for snacks and market food, and withdraw from an ATM before you go. Vendors may not have change for large notes.
It takes planning. Bibimbap can be ordered without meat, and temple-style and tofu dishes are widely available, but many stews and broths use fish sauce or anchovy stock. Learn a few Korean phrases, use translation apps and check menus before sitting down.
The route works year-round and is planned that way. Winter is best for hot stews, soups and market food, while spring and autumn suit walking between hanok-village restaurants. Summer is hot and humid and some dishes are seasonal, so check menus and book popular Jeonju spots.
