The EA bus leaves the terminal every 20-30 minutes and stops near Avenida de la Constitucion, a short walk from Santa Cruz. Buy the ticket on board; a taxi from the rank takes about 20 minutes and costs more.
The whitewashed lanes around Calle Agua and Plaza de Santa Cruz open onto small squares with orange trees. The quarter is a maze by design; keep to the wider lanes after dark, when the alleys are poorly lit.
Several restaurants in the quarter serve in tiled courtyards, with cold salmorejo, oxtail stew and Jerez sherry. Book a courtyard table a day ahead; kitchens open at 20:30 and the best tables go first.

Private guides can be arranged through licensed local operators, but they still depend on official Alhambra tickets, which sell out two to three months ahead. Reserve both the guide and the Nasrid Palace entry early. Confirm whether hotel pickup and skip-the-line entry are included before paying.
April to June and September to October give mild, romantic weather for the Alcazar gardens, Plaza de Espana and Albaicin rooftops. July and August bring searing 40 C heat that makes daytime sightseeing tiring. Spring adds blossom and festival atmosphere, while autumn is quieter and still warm.
Small venues like Casa de la Memoria have limited seating and often sell out in peak season, so book a few weeks ahead for evening shows. Choose seats closer to the stage for the best view. Arrive early, as performances usually run under an hour with no interval.
ALSA buses link Seville, Cordoba and Granada frequently and drop you in the city centres, which suits a luggage-light honeymoon. Trains cover some legs but are slower or require changes for Granada. Book bus seats in advance in spring and autumn, and allow time for taxi transfers to boutique hotels in the old quarters.
