The trip opens with a drive from Malaga to Granada, then a full Alhambra day - the Nasrid Palaces, Mexuar and Generalife - and an Albaicin evening at the San Nicolas viewpoint. An ALSA bus brings you…
Rental desks sit in the arrivals hall of Terminal 3; book ahead for a one-way drop in Seville, which carries a fee. The A-7 coast road passes Torremolinos and Nerja's Balcon de Europa for a first sea stop.
The white town sits between Malaga and Granada and has a hilltop Alcazaba and the dolmens just outside. Parking at the edge of the old town is easier than driving the lanes; plaza cafes serve a cheap menu del dia.
Drop the car at a garage near the centre, since the Albaicin lanes are closed to most traffic. With every drink comes a free tapa, which makes a light evening meal cheap; Plaza Nueva is the easiest place to start.

Nasrid Palace entry is among the hardest tickets in Spain to secure and often sells out two to three months ahead, particularly for morning slots. Book on the official Alhambra site as soon as your dates are fixed, carry the passport used at booking, and consider an evening visit as a backup option.
March to May and September to October are ideal, with mild temperatures for the Alhambra, Mezquita and Alcazar. July and August push Seville and Cordoba toward 40 C, making midday walking hard. April adds Seville's Feria, but expect higher prices and busy hotels during that week.
A car is useful for the Malaga to Granada leg and for reaching Albaicin viewpoints, but parking in these old cities is difficult and expensive. For Granada to Cordoba and Cordoba to Seville, ALSA buses are frequent and drop you centrally. Many travellers combine a one-way rental with buses.
These are active places of worship, so cover shoulders and knees and remove hats inside. Comfortable shoes matter more than dress codes for the Alcazar gardens and Albaicin slopes. In summer, light breathable clothing plus a layer for air-conditioned interiors works well. Check each site's current visitor rules before you go.
