The trip opens in Mallorca with Palma's old town and cathedral, then a rental-car loop of the northern Serra de Tramuntana villages - Valldemossa and Deia - and a half-day boat out to the eastern Cala…
The A1 bus runs to Palma's Placa d'Espanya every 15 minutes, and resort shuttles leave from the arrivals forecourt. Book a resort transfer ahead in July and August, when taxis at the rank are scarce.
Most south-coast resorts have a sheltered bay and sunbeds rented by the day, with beach bars open until late. The sea is warmest from June to October; watch the green and yellow flags before swimming.
Seafront restaurants serve grilled fish, sobrasada sausage and local Gato almond cake, with the sun setting over the bay. Reserve by phone for a sea-facing table; the fixed menu is better value than a la carte.

Fast ferries cross from Palma to Ibiza in roughly two hours, with slower services taking longer, and they run most of the year with more frequency in summer. Book seats ahead in July and August. Flying between the islands is also possible but adds airport time. Check operator schedules before fixing your itinerary.
May to June and September to October offer sea temperatures around 22-26 C, open beach clubs and far fewer crowds than July and August, when prices roughly triple. Late spring and early autumn also suit the Serra de Tramuntana hikes and village drives. Winter is quiet, with many resorts and clubs closed.
A car makes the Serra de Tramuntana loop to Valldemossa and Deia and the eastern Cala d'Or coves far easier, since buses are limited and slow. Book an automatic early in summer, as supply is tight. Parking in villages is restricted, so arrive early and use signed car parks rather than roadside spots.
Beach clubs commonly charge per person per day for a sunbed or table, and prices rise sharply in July and August. Reserve online before you travel, especially for sunset slots, and confirm the minimum spend. Some clubs also sell entry-only tickets. Budget separately from the overall trip cost.
